Oh boy. These two. These two are two YEARS old and are t.r.o.u.b.l.e!! Terrible twos, double trouble, you name it.. they fit the description. It's kind of hilarious most days.. (the trouble they can create) but some days it's not so funny. The poopy diapers thrown across the bedroom and smeared on the walls. NOT funny. Wowzers. But shoot, they are so dern cute and fun and sweet. I will take the smeared poopy diapers cause the trade-off is worth it. :)

My poor clients who had their pics taken MONTHS and months ago and have yet to see them posted on the blog.. well, these two cute senior buddies were gorgeous and they endured wind and heat and barbed wire. I love seniors so much. They are at the BEST age of their lives and don't quite know it. I want to hug all these cute HS seniors and tell them to enjoy their friends but to always be nice to their parents even when they are embarrassed to be seen with them in public. I'm getting nervous for these days ahead.

Two years ago today, I became a little less selfish.. a little more patient.. and a LOT more convinced that my family is the single most important thing for me to spend my time and energy on. I love Maggie and Jones for helping put things into perspective for me.. for forcing me to slow down and re-evaluate... and for giving me the SURPRISE of a lifetime!! We celebrated the twins bday a few days ago since my family was in town.. here's a quick rundown. :)

So I'm pretty sure there is NO one that cares anymore, or reads my blog since I've been MIA the past months... but I feel it is time to UPDATE the blog o rama anyways. Summer is here and it's awesome. Love it.. love no real schedule and kids running in the streets at night. Love hearing crickets and seeing all the dead cockroaches on the sidewalk (not so much).. Love riding bikes to get ice cream and letting the twins run free all day in just their diapers. And especially, I love NOT being on the computer every free minute I have. I've chosen to do other things and it feels GOOD. It feels so good. So anyhoo, that's the mini update and here are a few pics from a few mini shoots a while ago. :) More to come.. promise... (just not exactly sure when.)

So the other day, I actually had a bday and it was awesome.. and all I wanted was to get a good shot (ONE good shot) of Maggie and Jones. Except, I didn't want to get them ready and I didn't want to take them anywhere cute or fun and I didn't exactly want to even take the pics myself. So I plopped them in Millie's room because it has a big window and I took pics for 3 minutes and they were not awesome and I didn't care and I still had a great bday. :) Then later, we were playing outside with all the kids (5 kids total.. I have 5 kids.. FYI.. that's alot) and I told them to all gather around mother hen so I could snap a pic and those were even more awesome than Maggie and Jones' shots. So the bday pics were not a success but I have memories and that's all I could really ask for.. oh, and some coconut cake with eclairs that Kristin made for me. Whoa.

There once was this family who got their pictures taken on a day when a tornado blew into town so we hiked down under a tunnel and snapped pics for a minute. Its sure a good thing they are all beautiful and spontaneous and easy going cause it wasn't the best weather day I've ever seen. :)

Last weekend we had the Race for Jace here in Santa Clara and it was amazing. So many people showed up and it made all the stress and planning completely worth it. Little Jace and his darling family were all there and the community ended up raising over $16K for Jace.

19 months

Jonesy and Maggie are big kids these days. Turning 19 months old a few days ago. Mag is still itsy bitsy teeny weeny and is barely outgrowing her 6 month clothes. Jones is full figured and doing just fine! Both babes still LOVE their binkys and I don't want to talk about it. :) They love wagon rides, grandma, gum, silverware, sleeping, their big siblings and creating chaos wherever they go. They are darling kids with lots of personality and we are grateful for them.. (but man, is it ever hard most days!!:)

RACE for JACE

On Jan. 4th, my good friend had her world turned upside down when her cute little 8 year old Jace, started his shirt on fire with a lighter. This accident sent Jace to the emergency room down here in St George where they found he needed to be flown to the U of U Burn Center in Salt Lake City for treatment. He has extensive burns covering more than a quarter of his body and now they have taken skin from the areas that were spared, for grafting, which makes more than half of his body an open wound. Our neighbors immediately came up with the idea for Race for Jace as a way to help with the Carlson's expenses and to show our support. We also wanted our children to get involved and see a community pull together for a family who is in need. This race is going to be a huge family event. We want families to come and run or walk together and support the Carlson Family. After the run, there will be authentic mexican food available as well as a bake sale. Live music will be performed by "Erik the Red" and there will be train rides and activities for kids. The Race for Jace website is http://www.raceforjace.com/ and the facebook page is found here. Courtney is pretty funny if I do say so myself and listening to her speak will be a memory you will NOT forget. I love what she's done for the blogging world and what she will do for the Deseret News! Soooooo exciting! I love how she is learning new things, mostly about herself, and how she's teaching us to just relax, be nice and accept ourselves.

Courtney was a great snuggler back in 1996 and I'm sure she still is.

I kind of forgot that I had a blog. But it has been a super nice break away from the computer and all things pictures. We spent our first Christmas away from all our family and stayed here in St George, which turned out low-key and very nice. Now that its a new year, I've been thinking about how eventful and exciting last year was for us. One thing I was thinking about at 3am while battling insomnia was the "firetruck incident." A mom's worst nightmare. A group of kindergarteners, an old firetruck (that starts by pushing a button! Hello?!) a really nice black car parked in the firetruck's path, and our neighbors HOUSE. Yes, the firetruck nearly crashed into our neighbors front door. What an event! So glad that we have learned our lessons from that one. Anyhoo, hopefully this year will be eventful in a good way as the kids grow up and learn lessons. And us adults too! Happy New Year! :)

My parents bought a home down here in gorgeous Southern Utah earlier this year and have decided to rent it out to anyone who is clean and fun and loves St George. :) My dad has recently taken a temporary job out of state and so they won't be able to spend as much time down here as they'd like.. The home is located in Desert Hills, St George, UT. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and is brand spankin new. There is a community pool as well as a fun park and splash pad within walking distance. They are charging $75 per night

Halloween on Cynthia Lane

We were lucky enough to have my parents down for Halloween this year and take part in the Cynthia Lane Halloween festivities! We hosted a "haunted garage" while a few other neighbors did popcorn, corndogs, soup, drinks, donuts, homemade rootbeer and train rides. Good thing we like Halloween!

Summer Stuff

Anyone ever hiked Orderville Canyon? It's in Zions and it's beautiful but I got about 7 injuries throughout the day hiking the darn canyon, as well as almost everyone else in our group. Don't go if you're not a fan of falling and bruising and banging and twisting and spraining parts of your body.

What about the Bryce Canyon Half Marathon? Not my favorite race ever. It took about 2 weeks to make it to our hotel (motel) after traveling through the mountains and what not and then we didn't even really get to see Bryce during the run. I think I'll stick with the Hobble Creek Half.
And then there's the ever so popular Wasatch Back. One of my favorites for sure, but it's getting way too HUGE and crowded and the rules are getting pretty out of control.. but there's nothing like it! We are running the Red Rock Relay for the first time next month and we'll see how the two compare.
Any other fun races/hikes/adventures I need to know about before summer's completely gone?

I love my Aunt and Uncle's yard... so much in fact that I used to shoot there a lot. A... Lot. Since I've moved far far away from them, I've missed their yard and their puppy and their sarcastic comments and their ivy covered walls. We had fun with Jen and Jason even if they (Jason) were camera shy at first. Thanks go to Aunt and Uncle Neecey and Craiggers, Jen and Jason and Miss. Camerlee for being an A+ assistant. :)

I can't get enough of these guys. They are hilarious and I love being thier mom. You hear it alllllllllll the time, but this year flew by and since they are my LAST babies, I'm a little sad about it. No more baby stuff... EVER.. until I'm a grandma. No more binkys, bouncy chairs, burp cloths. It's all going. I only have good memories from the past year with Maggie and Jones - They are awesome. :) Happy Bday Cute Kids!

You know when you meet a couple and you are almost jealous of their relationship with each other? They just have it, ya know? They really genuinely like eath other... a lot. These guys have got IT. PLUS.....they love to be on their laptops and sometimes they will even randomly break out dance moves on campus. Perfect. Love these guys.

This Friday equals 12 years of marriage for myself and my better half. 12 years. Wow. 12 years ago I was barely of legal age. We were so young but "so mature" and so ready for marriage and so excited and so crazy in love and would do anything to be together.. oh what fun. I love how things have changed and how much more comfortable we feel in our own skin and in our marriage. It's always a work in progress but I know I am extremely blessed to have Aaron in my life. He is my partner and there is no way on earth I'd be able to be half the mother I am without him.

The College Grad

My little seester Lindsey used to go everywhere with me. Even on dates. Yes, I would take Lindsey with me on dates... bowling, movies, dinner, you name it, she came with me. She is 6 years younger than me so she was in elementary school during these dating rendezvous. I loved having her with me... she would give me her opinions on the guys and let me know if they measured up to her standards. Pretty soon, these guys started being extra nice to Lindsey in hopes of getting a good word in. She got all sorts of treats and compliments and flirtings. So so funny. I'm still not sure why anyone even wanted to go on a date with me knowing that my 11 year old sister would be there!

Then there was the Sunday night journal writing. Lindsey and I would turn on FM100 and get out our journals. We would lay there forever, writing about the week and talking about boys. I have about 20 journals from those days and now writing in my journal doesn't happen because it's just not the same without FM100 and Lindsey.

One time Lindsey and I got trapped on a mountain. It's true. We were trapped. We were supposed to be home leaving for Lake Powell with our family and we decided to take a last minute hike up behind our house. Bad idea. I think Lindsey ended up bum sliding all the way down through shrubbery and prickly trees, scraping and cutting herself the whole way. I have never laughed harder. (even though it was flippin scary)

Now Lindsey is a grown woman, with a husband, a house, lovely children and *almost* a college degree. She has been working and working towards this graduation and a big sister couldn't be more proud. I love her so much and know she will make a difference in the lives of her family and others around her. She is compassionate, strong, determined and lights up a room when she walks in. I'm so proud of you little seester.. you're beautiful. :)

Tava might be one of the tiniest little things I've ever seen.. Her dress could have fit me in 4th grade! She was absolutely gorgeous and thanks to her mom and "best lady" for coming along to help keep the gorgeous-ness alive through all the dirt, mud, bugs and humidity the lake brings.

April Mini Shoots: Part 1

This weekend was jam packed and action filled.. I drove to Provo and back to St George in 24 hrs and shot 9 sessions... (someone forgot it was Millies bday and scheduled the shoots the same weekend) - I made it home 1 hour before Millie turned 4 so it ended up working out! I did love meeting new buddies and hanging out with some old ones AND I will be posting Part 2 of the sessions in the next few days..

Bday Dreams Come True

All I wanted for my big day yesterday, (besides Easter and General Conference) was to snap a few pics of my kids up Snow Canyon. It has become quite the tradition. My parents were able to come down for the exciting festivities and I already miss them (and their help!!) - Thanks to all my nice friends for all the happy bday wishes. It was a perfect day. :)

Mr. & Mrs. Perkes : Married

The day came and went and now Katie will forever be known as Mrs. Perkes. I know for a fact that she was counting down the seconds until she was able to call herself "Tyson's wife." I had such a good time spending the day with Katie and Tyson and their families. I'm sure they were sick of me by the end of the day, tagging along everywhere they went like the paparazzi, but secretly I think they felt like rock stars! Congrats you guys!

Sweet baby Reggie lives 2 houses away from me and spending the afternoon with him made me (maybe for a teeny second) consider needing a Warner baby #6.... and then the twins started screaming in unison and Millie threw something at me and I was jolted back to reality. 5 is good. Oh, I love my Jones. He has finally decided to maybe think about crawling. Maybe he is sick of being tackled and scratched and having his binky and toys stolen by his super aggresive and mobile twin sister. He has started the "army scoot" - but... only for a prize. He won't do it unless he has incentive. He's a smart guy, ya know? What a stud. Love him.
